MUMBAI – AURANGABAD – MUMBAI – AHMEDABAD – DELHI – CHANDIGARH – DELHI – AGRA – DELHI ( 9 Nights )
Day 01 ARRIVAL: Reception and welcome at Mumbai airport followed by transfer to your hotel.
Day 02 MUMBAI – AURANGABAD: A morning boat ride takes you to the cave temples of Elephanta. After lunch fly out to Aurangabad.
Day 03 AURANGABAD: Spend the day exploring the Ajanta cave paintings and the city of Aurangabad.
Day 04 AURANGABAD – MUMBAI: Exploring the ancient carvings at the Ellora caves, then board the late afternoon flight back to Mumbai.
Day 05 MUMBAI – AHMEDABAD: Fly to Ahmedabad in the morning and spend the day touring the fine examples of Hindu, Muslim and modern architectural styles that abound.
Day 06 AHMEDABAD – DELHI – CHANDIGARH: Take the morning flight to Delhi. Explore both Old and Lutyens’ Delhi before taking the evening train to Chandigarh.
Day 07 CHANDIGARH – DELHI: After a day devoted to the ‘town symbolic of the freedom of India’. Come back to Delhi by the evening train.
Day 08 DELHI – AGRA: Drive to Agra to view the splendour of the Taj Mahal and the many jewels of Mughal architecture in the town.
Day 09 AGRA – DELHI: Revisit the Taj at Sunrise, leaving after breakfast so that you can tour Fatehpur Sikri on the way back to Delhi.
Day 10 DEPARTURE: Transfer to the airport in time for your flight out.

This itinerary will take you through a journey that will illustrate the many facets of Indian architecture, the symbolism in the ornamentation, the details of planning. Should you desire it, an interactive session with a leading architect in one of the cities covered can be arranged. You will have local guides in each city, however, you also have the option of taking a knowledgeable guide along for the entire journey. Accommodation is in the finest hotels in the cities covered.
