GOLFING TOUR  (11 Days )

THE MANY BRITISH who came to India in Her Majesty’s Service during the Raj, brought with them customs and traditions that they had grown up with and the sports they were passionate about.  So it was that India became the second country in the world where golf was played. In the dusty plains of central India; amidst the snowy peaks of the Himalaya; remote outposts of the Raj, tiny golf courses were laid out where the sahibs could tee off. In cities and towns, clubs celebrated the challenge of the game.  The most famous of these was the Tollyganj in Kolkata, the headquarters of the East India Company.

Even after Independence, Golf remained an exclusive sport played by a small elite. It was in the late 1980s that the game developed a wide following.  This was influenced by and in turn influenced the laying out of world-class courses, conceived and designed by legends of the game such as Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Plamer. Today the courses in the country are at par with the best worldwide and provide a unique environment in which to indulge your passion.

 

MUMBAI –KOLKATA – GURGAON – JAIPUR – AGRA – NOIDA  (11 Days )

 

Day 01 ARRIVAL: Reception and welcome at Mumbai airport followed by transfer to your hotel.  Enjoy a day at leisure or tee off at Willington Sports Club.

 

Day 02 MUMBAI: Tour the city in the morning.  The greens at Presidency Club, Chembur, await the rest of your day.

 

Day 03 MUMBAI – KOLKATA: Fly to Kolkata in the morning to play the greens at the venerable Tollyganj Club.  

 

Day 04 KOTKATA: Test the challenge of the Royal Kolkata Golf Club in the morning before exploring the city.

 

Day 05 KOLKATA ~DELHI: Your flight to Delhi is in the morning.  This gives you the afternoon to tour the city or play a round at the Delhi golf club.

 

Day 06 GURGAON: Drive out to the satellite town of Gurgaon to play the course there.

 

Day 07 GURGAON~ JAIPUR: Leave for Jaipur by road.  Enjoy a day of leisure with a cultural show in the evening.

 

Day 08 JAIPUR: Greet the morning with a round of golf at Rambagh Golf Club.  Tour the city after lunch.

 

Day 09 JAIPUR ~ AGRA: Drive to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri.

 

Day 10 AGRA ~ NOIDA: On the way out from Agra, stop to visit Sikandra, the tomb of Akbar.  Stay overnight at NOIDA, one of Delhi’s satellite towns.

 

Day 11 NOIDA: Enjoy a full day out on the greens

 

Day 12 DEPARTURE: Transfer to the airport in time for your flight out.
